Learn more about Soccer !

Soccer is one of the most established and successful programs offered through Game Changers Idaho and is designed to serve athletes across a wide range of ability levels. The program is available for K–12 students and is divided into two age-based divisions: Junior Division (K–6th grade) and Pro Division (7th–12th grade). No prior soccer experience is required, as athletes are placed at a level that best supports their individual needs and abilities.

Within each division, athletes participate at one of the following levels:

  • Rookie Level:
Designed for athletes who benefit from 1:1 assistance and a slower pace of play. Volunteers provide some physical assistance, encouragement, emotional support, and guidance as needed. Games may include modified play, such as multiple soccer balls or individual balls for each athlete, allowing participants to engage at a level that fits their needs. Athletes in this level always have the opportunity to progress to the JV level.

  • JV Level:
Offers a balance between development and competition. Scores are kept, but wins and losses are not recorded. The pace of play is moderate, with volunteers available for reminders, encouragement, and some emotional support. Athletes may move up to the Varsity level or transition to the Rookie level if it is determined to be a better fit.

  • Varsity Level:
Designed for athletes who are able to compete at a higher level. Scores and records are kept, leading to a playoff and championship format. Games are facilitated by coaches and GCI staff, with no volunteers provided during gameplay.

All participants are provided with a GCI volunteer (If one is needed), and parental assistance is not permitted unless discussed in advance with GCI staff to determine appropriate alternatives.
